Senator Thom Tillis opposes Trump's DC Attorney Nominee
Hello Pender County Residents,
As many of you are aware, it was reported yesterday that our North Carolina Senator, Thom Tillis will not be supporting President Trump’s nominee, Ed Martin for DC Attorney.
Senator Tillis reportedly met with Mr. Martin yesterday and has expressed concerns related to January 6th.
Republicans face a deadline of May 20th to confirm a nominee.
If Republicans are unable to confirm a nominee, Judge James Boasberg, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia will almost certainly make the selection. Boasberg is perceived by many Senate Republicans as left-leaning.
Judge Boasberg, an Obama-appointed judge, has been assigned several high profile cases recently involving the Trump Administration and has ruled against the Administration.
