Pender County Republican Party Convention - 2025
The Pender County Republican Party 2025 convention will be held on Saturday, March 1st at the Pender County Annex Building in Hampstead.

This is an election year for our Pender County Republican Party officers.
According to our Plan of organization, any Pender County Republican Resident that is interested in running for one of the officer positions must declare their intent. The filing period to declare intent is January 1st, 2025 through January 30th 2025.
Below is the process to file your intent:
ARTICLE IV – CONVENTIONS
b. Elections
I. In every odd-numbered year, the County Convention shall elect: A Chair and a Vice-Chair, a Secretary
and a Treasurer, who are registered Republican as of January 31 of that year and who shall serve for a
term of 2 years or until their successors are elected.
ii. Members who wish to be a candidate for Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer shall state
their intention to seek the respective office in writing during the filing period.

[3] the member’s physical and mailing address
[4] the member’s telephone number.
A member may satisfy the writing requirement by sending an email containing the required information
to the Pender County Republican Party at [email protected] and by sending a written
letter containing the required information mailed to Pender County GOP at Post Office Box 131,
Hampstead, NC 28443.
In odd numbered years, the filing period begins January 1 and ends 30 days prior to the convention.
Emails shall be received on or before 30 days prior to the convention, and notices by mail shall be
postmarked on or before 30 days prior to the convention. Late notices shall not be accepted. All
nominations shall be sent to the Secretary and forwarded to the Executive Committee upon receipt and
posted to the website within three (3) days of receipt by the Secretary. Nominations from the floor on
the day of the Convention shall not be accepted. A proposed candidate’s failure to timely file their
written intention for office containing the required information shall result in their name being excluded
from the ballot. All written notices that are timely filed and contain the requisite information shall be
forwarded to the Secretary who will acknowledge receipt of the filed notice. If there is a contested
election, the Secretary shall create a ballot for each office with the names of the individuals who have
filed. A viewable ballot for each office will be posted not later than February 21 on the Pender County
Party’s website and emailed to all Pender County Republicans using the official Party email distribution
list. No ballot shall be created for a non-contested office. Each candidate on the ballot shall be afforded
the opportunity to address the general membership about their candidacy to the seated delegates at
the County convention. Prior to the County Convention the Chairman shall appoint no less than 2, and
no more than 5 Election Tellers. The Chairman shall not appoint any candidates as an Election Teller.
Each candidate shall be notified of the Chairman’s Election Teller selections and each candidate may
appoint one observer to monitor the teller’s work.

Our 2025 Convention is this Saturday, March 1st at the Pender County Annex.
- Precinct meetings will begin at 10:00AM, Immediately followed by our County Convention.
- Registration opens at 8:30AM
- Doors will close at 10:00AM and only those on line at 10:00AM will be permitted into the Precinct Meetings/County Convention.
We have extended our early registration until today (Wednesday). Early registration will close at 5:00PM today. Register early and save ($10 for early registration, $20 registration at the door).
This is a Pender County GOP Officer Election year.
- All candidates for any of the four Pender County GOP Officers (Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer) who filed to be a candidate during the filing period, will be permitted to speak to the residents for up to three minutes.
- At-Large officers, will be nominated from the floor either by themselves or a county convention delegate. The At-Large candidates will also be permitted to speak to the residents for up to three minutes.
- Our Precinct Chairs and District & State delegates will be elected during our Precinct Meetings.

Reminder, in order to be permitted into the Precinct Meeting/Convention as a County Delegate (voting resident), you must be a registered Republican residing in Pender County as of January 31st, 2025.
Registered Republicans who are not registered by January 31st, 2025 and/or do not reside in Pender County are welcomed to attend, however will need to sit in the guest section.
