2025 PC GOP Convention Recap

The Pender County Republican Party's 2025 convention was a great success!

On Saturday, March 1st, we saw over 100 (104) Pender County registered Republicans gather together to hear our candidates, vote on our Leadership and GOP related business items.

The results of our voting yielded the following - 

Pender County GOP Leadership:

  • Chairman, Joshua Smith
  • Vice Chairman, Ryan Collins
  • Secretary, Lynn Norwood
  • Treasurer, Adam Kessel

Pender County GOP At-Large Members:

  • Jeff Caldwell
  • Phil Cordeiro
  • Shayne Frey
  • Al Hegarty
  • Kim McGahey

Pender County GOP Executive Committee:

The County Delegates voted by acclamation to elect the Executive Committee per our Plan of Organization, Article IV.B.b.iv. 

These members shall be:
o The Immediate Past County Chair
o All duly elected Precinct Chairmen
o The County Finance Chair
o Republican elected officials, who were elected in County wide elections and reside in Pender County.
o Elected Judicial officials who are registered Republicans and reside in Pender County.
o One member from each of the Affiliated Republican Organizations identified in the NC Republican Plan of Organization Article VI.A1.c. -Namely the Young Republican Federation, the Republican Women's Federation, Republican Men's Federation, the North Carolina College Republicans, North Carolina Teenage Republicans, and the Republican National Hispanic
Assembly North Carolina Chapter, Frederick Douglass Foundation of North Carolina. The member must be designated by the Chair of the Affiliated Organization and be a registered Republican residing in Pender County. 

Pender County GOP Precinct Chairs:

The Pender County GOP County Delegates elected 15 Precinct Chairs at the convention.

Our website will be updated with 48 hours listing the Precinct Chairs.

Pender County GOP Plan of Organization:

The Pender County GOP County Delegates voted in favor of the 3 proposed amendments to the PC GOP Plan of Organization.

Since these were amendments, a Two-Thirds vote was needed to advance the proposed amendments. Two of the three proposed amendments passed with a Two-Thirds majority vote.

Proposed amendments #One and #Three received Two-thirds vote in favor and were passed by the County Delegates.

Proposed amendment #Two, failed to receive the Two-Thirds vote needed and failed.
